Look #3 Striped

Stripes are for everyone be it a guy or a girl. Today stripes are no more the “from the jail look” they’re seen everywhere from runway to the street markets. IMG_9668
Thick or thin, horizontal, vertical or zig zag, black&white, pastel colored or bold playful colored, stripes are always fun to experiment with. The easiest way to wear a pair of striped shorts is by pairing it with a simple shirt, top or a statement t-shirt. For those who want to experiment with the outfits can try pairing horizontal stripes with verticals, same stripes with a different colour scheme, or florals with the strips. IMG_9711 You can make your casual shorts into a night outfit by simply switching from flats to block heels, a nice clutch and some statement jewellery. I paired my forever21 high waist mickey mouse style shorts with my favourite black ONLY top. IMG_9702

Look#2 Floral summerdress

IMG_9578 IMG_9592
I personally am in love with florals. They never go out of style. A floral print summer dress is a must have for you wardrobe, it adds of a playfulness with a hint of hippie style. It gives yo the feeling of strolling through the greens with your friends while the wind breezes through your open hair and sharing secrets under the stars at night (though there are no stars in delhi.. sad…).

You can wear your floral print sundress even in winter. Choose a print with a darker background (preferably black) pair it up with the leather jacket with high boots. You can also add a scarf and/or beanie to complete your look.

LOOK #1 :TULLE SKIRT AND CROP TOP

It’s not that easy to pull off any tutu outfit outside your stage of the black swan. A tulle skirt, on the other hand, gives the same feel to your outfit without looking like an actual ballerina on the streets.
IMG_9383
While thinking of tulle skirt, we usually consider pairing it with heels or ballerinas with a nice girly top.  Trying to break the monotony I donned a casual grey crop top with batwing sleeves with a peach tulle skirt and added a pair of converse because who are we kidding? We don’t want to walk around the streets of Delhi in high heels all the time.  We’ll end up breaking an ankle or our favorite pair of heels.

A quirky skirt can bring life to a plain t-shirt. It can be worn for any occasion by styling it right. For a Party night team it up with a basic cap sleeved t-shirt with pumps. In winters, a knitted jumper with thigh high boots and/or tights can add glamour to your day. No matter what your size or shape is, a tulle skirt will bring out your elegance and feminity.

WARDROBE INSPIRATION: TAYLOR SWIFT

Doesn’t matter if you are a swiftie or not. Either way you cannot avoid Taylor Swift’s continuous pop-ups on your social media page.

And in my next posts I’m gonna add on to that list of pop-ups, because of course I love her.
If you live in this part of the universe you know who Taylor swift is and we can all agree that Taylor Swift is beyond beautiful.  Her relationships her breakups and her styles are something that every “swiftie” looks out for.
In case you haven’t noticed, her relationship influences not only her songs but also her dressing style. From the long curly locks to the fringe and straight hair, from feminine ladylike dresses to the ultimate rock chick, Tay has managed to look absolutely stunning every time.
With Conor Kennedy, she was the ultimate girly girl with short dresses, skirts, polka dots.

With Harry, styles came layers, shirts, beanies and scarves (and the *cough*paper plane necklace *cough*) around her neck

And now with DJ Calvin Harris she is the ultimate rock chick in leather, all blacks and cutout dresses (not to forget their matching outfits).

Don’t they look adorable together on their inflated duck Yacht? XD

Well, coming to the point. Taylor is everywhere so for the first week of my blog, I have decided to swiftify my wardrobe by adding five outfits inspired from her style. The best part is that I was able to complete my looks with some basic clothes that you can easily find anywhere in Delhi. I have chosen my favorite looks which can be worn on a daily basis or even for your special occasions. Hope you like them.

Bollywood Dissapointments at Cannes

Katrina Kaif debuted in the Cannes festival in a Oscar De La Renta fall 2015 black gown. The actress flaunted her red hair and managed to get the attention from the fashion police. In an article NYPost her look is mentioned in the don’ts corner for fashion and is described by the word “awful”.  On the second day she tried to make up for it by donning a Elie Saab red gown but the red lipstick, red 8inch high heels and the red hair did not compliment the look rather made everyone wonder if the red was the only color in the universe.

On the first day Sonam Kapoor left the audience in awe. She had all attention on her as she posed in elegance in a Ralph and Russo Couture royal blue gown. The fashionista carried her addiction for high end accessories and diamonds to the red carpet by pairing her attire with chopard sapphire and diamond earrings.
Though her first day look was flattering, Sonam's second day went well... not so well.
Is it a bird? Is it grass? No its Sonam Kapoor’s gown for Cannes.
Just when the various memes and jokes about Rihanna’s yellow Met Gala dress were getting old Bollywood fashionista Sonam Kapoor decided to walk the red carpet at Cannes in a sorbet coloured Elie Saab dress that looked more like anything else but a dress.  The neckline and the hemline were covered in something which looked like a mix of feather and fur.
Sonam is known for her fashion statements and has never been fashionably incorrect for her fans. We wonder what went wrong this time!
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played it safe with her wavy hair in a sheer green emblished gown by Elie Saab. Posing confidently in front of the cameras she blew kisses to her fans.

MARCALA - COLOR OF THE YEAR 2015

It is said that a color can change a mood or even a personality.
After Emerald in 2013 and orchid in 2015 it is now time to colour your wardrobe “marcala”. The new earthy colour is here to give fashion a new sultry, sexy and chic look. It is a color that can be worn by anyone and everyone, whether it is  a man in marsala suit or a woman in a dress, skirt or even a kanjivaram sari.
Pantone explains “Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal while its grounding re-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness. This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion beauty industrial design, home furnishing and interiors.”

In other words Marcala is here to stay!.
